What are To-Dos?
To-Dos are actionable items that can be assigned to a specific user in Pingboard to make it clear who is responsible for an action and, in cases where due dates have been added, when those items are due.
Note: At this time, To-Dos are only available when using Onboarding Checklists under the Pingboard Pro Plan.
When it comes to Onboarding Checklists in Pingboard, To-Dos can be assigned to users who will be involved in the onboarding process for a new hire. For example, you might assign a To-Do to your IT Manager to set up a laptop for a new hire. Or, you might have been assigned a To-Do as a new hire’s manager with an item reminding you to send a welcome message to the new hire on their first day.
To-Dos are assigned within an Onboarding Checklist, and they will show up both on that specific checklist and on the Homepage for the assignee under a tile named, My To-Dos.
Why was I assigned a To-Do?
You were assigned a To-Do by the creator or editor of an Onboarding Checklist in Pingboard. If you have a To-Do assigned to you, this either means that you are responsible for completing an action item to help a new hire prepare for onboarding, or that you are a new hire with action items on your Onboarding Checklist which need to be completed in order to go through the onboarding process for your company.

How can I manage and complete To-Dos?
If you are a new employee:
If you have open To-Dos on your Onboarding Checklist that have not been assigned to someone else, they will appear under your My To-Dos tile on your Pingboard homepage and on your Onboarding page, which can be found in the left hand menu.
You will also receive an email and in-app notification alerting you of your To-Dos.
As you complete your To-Dos, simply click the check box to mark them as completed. You can mark them as complete on your Onboarding Checklist or under My To-Dos. If you would like to view completed To-Dos, click Show Completed under My To-Dos, and all of your completed items will be displayed as long as the Onboarding Checklist you’ve been assigned is still open.
Once the relevant Onboarding Checklist has been marked completed, all of your To-Dos (both incomplete and complete) will be removed from your homepage.
Note: As a new employee, it is unlikely that you will be assigned To-Dos on another new hire’s Onboarding Checklist, but in the event that you are assigned To-Dos on another checklist, you will see those under My To-Dos along with your own onboarding To-Dos.
If you are an existing employee:
When a To-Do has been assigned to you, it will appear under your My To-Dos tile on your Pingboard homepage.
You will also receive an email and in-app notification alerting you that you’ve been assigned To-Dos.
As you complete your To-Dos, simply click the check box to mark them as completed. If you would like to view completed To-Dos, click Show Completed under My To-Dos, and all of your completed items will be displayed as long as the corresponding Onboarding Checklist to which those To-Dos are connected is still open.
Once the relevant Onboarding Checklist has been marked completed, all of your To-Dos (both incomplete and complete) will be removed from your homepage.
How can I manage To-Do notifications?
You are automatically set up to receive email and in-app notifications when To-Dos have been assigned to you.
To manage your notification settings for To-Dos, click on your profile picture in the top right corner in the Pingboard app. From the Menu, select Preferences and you can opt out of email notifications.
