You can configure job levels and job tracks in Workleap Compensation to reflect your organization’s role structure.
To begin, go to Configuration in the navigation menu and select the Job Structure tab.
Set up job levels
Job levels represent role seniority, labelled as L1, L2, L3, and so on.
Use the dropdown menu to select the number of job levels.
Workleap Compensation supports up to 15 levels, plus Level 0 and Level N/A.
What is Job Level 0?
Some companies use Level 0 as the starting point instead of Level 1.
This level is often used for interns or co-op students.
To enable Level 0, check the box for Enable Job Level 0.
What is Job Level N/A?
Level N/A can be used for employees who do not fit into a specific job level.
It can include both Individual Contributors (IC) and Managers (M).
These employees appear as individual dots on the Pay Bands page.
There is no pay band associated with Level N/A.
To enable this option, check the box for Enable Job Level "N/A".
Set up job tracks
Job tracks allow you to define two career paths within each job level:
Individual Contributor (IC)
Manager (M)
For each job level:
Use the checkboxes to include ICs, Managers, or both.
Use the Shared Band toggle to decide whether to combine ICs and Managers into one pay band or separate them.
Note: Level N/A always includes both ICs and Managers in the same row, without a pay band.
When finished, click Save at the bottom of the page.
Edit job levels and tracks
You can update your job structure at any time.
To change the number of levels, adjust the dropdown and click Save.
To enable or disable Level 0 or Level N/A, check or uncheck the box and click Save.
If you try to remove a level that has job titles assigned, a warning will appear.
To proceed:
Click Re-assign to open the Job Mapping tab, filtered to show affected employees.
Remove or reassign all employees from the level.
Try removing the level again.
