Once a Comp Review launches, employee data (job, performance rating, personal info) is "frozen" so pay decisions stay consistent. But real life doesn't pause — an employee might get promoted, receive a new performance rating, or have other details updated in that time. This article explains how to sync that new data into an active Comp Review.
Note: This feature is only available to Executives, and only while the Comp Review is in Ready for Launch or In Progress status.
How you'll know data has changed
When one or more employees in a Comp Review have updated data since the review launched, you'll see a banner at the top of the Team page:
New data available for [X] employees
Select Review Changes on the banner to jump straight to the Eligible Employees list, where affected employees are flagged individually.
Reviewing and applying changes for an employee
From the Eligible Employees list, find an employee with a Review Changes button (employees with no pending changes instead show the date they were last synced).
Select Review Changes to open the Review Changes panel for that employee. It shows a Before/After comparison across three sections:
Employee Fields — e.g. name, gender, photo, start date, work email
Job Fields — e.g. job title, level, department, pay
Performance Rating Fields — the employee's current performance rating
If the update includes a pay change, you'll also see a Team Budget Impact section explaining that the team's budget will be affected, and you'll be asked how to handle it:
Maintain budget amount — keep the team's total budget dollar amount the same
Maintain budget percent — keep the team's budget percentage the same (the dollar amount will shift with the employee's new pay)
Select Apply changes to confirm, or Cancel to leave the employee's frozen data as-is for now.
Applying the sync updates that employee's data in the Comp Review — including any pay-based calculations (like their compa-ratio and range penetration) — to reflect their new baseline. Any pay change amount you've already entered for them is preserved; only the reference numbers around it are refreshed.
When you can't sync
If an employee's currency has changed since the review launched, syncing is blocked for that employee with a warning:
Cannot sync employee data because a change in job currency code is not supported due to its impact on the Comp Review.
