The Workleap Agent drafts performance reviews, goals and replies to employee feedback for your managers. Each of these tasks is a skill. Every skill comes with Workleap’s instructions for doing the task well.
As an administrator, you can personalize each skill so the agent does the task your organization’s way. For example, give it your performance review format, or tell it to tie every goal to your company priorities. You set it once, and your managers get drafts that already follow your standards.
Who can do this: Organization administrators personalize skills for the whole organization. Executives can’t open these settings. Managers and employees can add templates for their own use.
Three ways to personalize a skill
Each skill has a Personalize section with three parts.
Part | What it does | Example |
Your own template | The instructions the agent follows to do the task: what to include, in what order and in what tone. Make yours the default, and the agent uses it every time a manager asks for that task. | Your company’s review format |
Organization guidance | Rules the agent always follows for that skill, whatever template it uses. Use it for the rules that never change. | “Tie every goal to one of our three company priorities.” |
Personal templates | Managers and employees create templates for their own use. Your organization guidance still applies to them. On by default. | A feedback reply in their team’s tone |
Every skill also comes with templates from Workleap. A manager can ask for another template by name.
What happens when a manager asks
Example: A manager asks the agent: “Draft Sam’s performance review.”
The agent uses the Performance review skill.
It follows one template: the one the manager asks for by name, or else your default.
It writes the draft with that template, your organization guidance and Workleap’s instructions for the skill.

Managers and employees: create your own template
If your administrator allows it, you can add templates for your own use. Nobody else sees them.
Click your avatar, then Personal settings > Agent > Skills, and click the skill.
Click Edit a copy or New template. Enter a Name and the Agent instructions, then click Create template.
To use it, name it in your request: “Reply with my Team tone template.”
You can also create a template from a conversation. Ask “Save this reply as my Team tone template.”, then click Save template on the card the agent shows.
Tips for good templates and guidance
Put the format in the template and the rules in guidance. When a rule changes, you change it in one place.
Be specific. “Two to three sentences, because managers skim” changes the result. “Be thoughtful” does not.
Start with the skill your managers use most. When a draft isn’t right, add a rule.
