How do I set up Workleap for my organization?

The steps to set up Workleap for your organization, in order, from your company profile to inviting everyone. For Administrators.

Setting up Workleap takes a few steps, and the order matters. Bring your people in with their managers first, then connect the tools they already use, and invite everyone last so their first notifications land in the right place.

Note: These steps are for Administrators. Some steps can also be done by Executives.

Set up your company profile

Start with your company profile: your company name, logo, time zone, and default language. Then add your mission and values. Everyone sees them on the Org page, Good Vibes are tied to your values, and the Workleap agent knows them in every conversation.

Bring your people in

Next, bring your people into Workleap. We recommend syncing them from your HRIS, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or Slack, so Workleap stays up to date on its own. If you add people by hand first, use the same email they have in your source tool, since the first sync matches people by email.

Make sure everyone has a manager

Workleap uses managers to build reporting lines. Without a manager, a person is left out of their manager's team, weekly brief, and reviews. If your source tool has manager information, map it in your people sync. Otherwise, set each person's manager in Workleap.

Give roles to the people who run Workleap

Everyone starts with standard employee access, and managers get manager access automatically. Give the Administrator role to the people who manage Workleap, and the Executive role to the people who need to see data for the whole organization. Someone who does both needs both roles.

Connect Slack or Microsoft Teams

Connect Slack or Microsoft Teams so people get Workleap notifications where they already work, instead of only by email. Do this before you invite people, so their first notifications go to the right place.

Choose who can use each feature

Every feature is on for everyone by default. If some features aren't for everyone yet, choose who can use them before you invite people, so people only see what's ready for them.

Invite everyone

Finally, invite everyone to sign in. If your people sync has automatic invites turned on, new people get an invite as soon as the sync adds them. Otherwise, send the invites from Manage people.

Create segments for your reports

Once your people are in, you can create segments, such as everyone in Sales or everyone hired this year, to filter analytics and review cycles. This step is optional and you can do it anytime.
