In Workleap Performance, a recurring review cycle prepares its own next run, with the same setup and updated dates. You review the draft and launch it when you're ready.
How to make a review cycle recurring
Log in to Workleap and go to Performance.
Open the review cycle and go to the Schedule section.
Under Recurrence, turn on Repeat this cycle.
Save the review cycle.
The section then shows when the next review cycle starts and when its draft is created.
Recurrence works with every trigger type: Focal and Hire date. It follows the review cycle's own dates. You can turn it on or off at any time, including after launch.
Note — The next run is created as a draft that you launch manually.
When the next review cycle starts
Focal: the next run starts one evaluation period after the current start date. The period is counted in days, so start dates can shift slightly over time. For example, a review cycle starting January 1, 2026 that evaluates October 1 to December 31, 2025 is followed by one starting April 3, 2026.
Hire date: the next run starts the day after enrollment closes.
When the draft is created
One month before the next run starts.
Only once the current review cycle is launched. A locked review cycle still creates its draft.
The review cycle's creator, editors, and the person who launched it receive an email with a link to the draft.
Important — Each review cycle creates one draft. Deleting it is permanent. Turning recurrence off before the draft date cancels it.
What the draft contains
Copied from the current review cycle:
Review types, description, and languages
Participation rules
Sections and questions
Peer and upward review settings
Acknowledgement requirement
Score formulas
Schedule and recurrence
Moved forward to the new period:
Automated start and lock dates
On Focal review cycles: the evaluation period and due dates
Reviewees: the draft has the same participation rules, and its reviewees are added when you launch it, so it reflects your organization at that time.
Workleap AI insight — Workleap AI renames the draft for the new period, in the same style as the previous title. If no new title can be generated, the previous title is kept.
Who can use recurring review cycles
Executives and Collaborators can turn recurrence on or off, and edit and launch the draft.
