How do I read the Manager Impact report as an Executive?

How Executives use the Manager Impact report in Analytics: org-wide score, manager health, leaderboard, and scope.

The Manager Impact report in Analytics shows how the managers in your organization are doing, in one view. It uses the same Manager Impact Score managers see in their own report. You get the overall score for the organization, the share of managers rated Great or Needs work, and a leaderboard of every manager.

Note: Executives with Executive access to Officevibe and Performance can see the Manager Impact report. Managers never see it: they see only their own report, never the leaderboard or other managers' scores.

Open the Manager Impact report

The Manager Impact report is in Analytics.

  1. Log in to Workleap and open Analytics.

  2. Select Manager Impact.

The Manager Impact report opens with All managers selected. Each manager's row loads separately, so in large organizations the leaderboard can take a few seconds to fill in.

Choose which managers to include

The scope selector in the Manager Impact report sets which managers are counted:

  • All managers: every manager in your organization. This is the default.

  • My direct reports: only the managers who report directly to you. Managers further down their reporting line aren't included.

When you switch, the organization's Manager Impact Score, manager health, and the leaderboard all update for the managers you selected.

Read your organization's Manager Impact Score

The Manager Impact report shows an overall Manager Impact Score from 0 to 100 for the managers you selected, plus their Practice and Outcome scores. Practice covers habits managers control, like replying to feedback and recognizing their team. Outcome covers results they influence, like their team's eNPS and review scores.

The organization's score is 60% of the average Practice score plus 40% of the average Outcome score. It isn't the average of each manager's Manager Impact Score, so the two numbers can differ.

The Manager Impact report is dated the 1st of the current month and uses data from the month before. For example, opening it on September 29 shows the September 1 report, so scores can be up to 30 days old. Each manager sees the same number in their own report.

The report is labeled beta. Workleap is still refining how the Manager Impact Score is calculated, so scores may change.

Read manager health

Manager health in the Manager Impact report shows the share of managers rated Great and the share rated Needs work:

  • Great: the manager's Manager Impact Score is 70 or more.

  • Needs work: the manager's Manager Impact Score is below 70.

Managers with Not enough data aren't counted in manager health, so the two percentages add up to 100%.

Use the manager leaderboard

The leaderboard in the Manager Impact report lists every manager in the scope you selected. For each manager, it shows:

  • Manager name and department

  • Participation rate: the share of the manager's direct reports who answered the Pulse Survey

  • Manager Impact Score

  • Practice score

  • Outcome score

You can sort the leaderboard by participation rate, Manager Impact Score, Practice, or Outcome.

A manager shows Not enough data instead of a score when fewer than 3 of their direct reports answered the Pulse Survey, or when their score can't be calculated. This protects their team's anonymity. These managers stay in the leaderboard; they're never hidden.

A low participation rate means the manager's eNPS and relationship with manager scores rely on fewer answers. Keep that in mind when you compare managers.

Open a manager's report

From the leaderboard of the Manager Impact report, you can open one manager's full report.

  1. In the leaderboard, find the manager's row.

  2. Select View report.

The manager's Manager Impact Report opens, with details on each of their 10 scores. To learn what each score measures, see the article What does my Manager Impact Report show as a manager?

Limitations of the Manager Impact report

The Manager Impact report has these limits:

  • It shows the latest month only. There's no trend or history for a manager or for the organization yet.

  • You can't filter by segment. The only scopes are All managers and My direct reports.

  • Scores can be up to 30 days old, because the report is dated the 1st of the month.

  • If you don't have access to a feature, such as Goals or Performance reviews, its scores are hidden for every manager and left out of the scores you see. The report doesn't say which scores are hidden, so a manager's score can look different to you than it does to them.

Tip: Use the leaderboard to decide where to focus coaching. Share each manager's own report with them rather than their rank against other managers.
