You can connect your Slack workspace to Workleap AI to help your team find answers faster by making Slack messages searchable in Workleap AI.

This article explains how to connect Slack, what types of content Workleap AI can access, and what happens after setup.

What Slack content does Workleap AI use?

Workleap AI can index and surface content from the following Slack message types:

  • Public channels: Admins can select specific public channels to sync.

  • Private channels: Users can individually authorize Workleap AI to index private channels they are part of. This is enabled per channel and can be disabled by an Administrator.

Slack content that Workleap AI doesn't use

  • Direct messages (DMs).

  • Shared files.

Workleap AI only shows Slack content to users who already have access to it in Slack.

Who can connect Slack to Workleap AI?

To connect Slack, you must be a Slack Workspace Owner or Slack Workspace Admin.

How to connect Slack

  1. In Workleap AI Settings, go to the Connected Apps section.

  2. Click the Connect to app dropdown and select Slack.

  3. Click Connect to your Slack workspace.

  4. When prompted, click Allow to grant Workleap AI access.

  5. Choose the Slack channels you want to sync.

  6. Click Begin initial sync.

What happens after setup?

Once connected, Workleap AI will begin indexing the selected Slack content. Depending on the amount of data, this process may take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.
