Use this article to read goal adoption across your organization in Workleap: how many people have goals, how many goals are active and up to date, how goals are split by status, and who has no goal or hasn't updated theirs. The report lives under Analytics > Goals.
Who can use it: Executives only. Direct Managers follow their team's goals from Team > Goals instead (see How do I follow my team's goals as a manager?).
Before you start
You are logged in to the new Workleap experience as an Executive.
Open the goal usage report and pick a population
The goal usage report is built for the population you select at the top of the page.
Log in to Workleap and go to Analytics. In the left-hand sidebar, under Performance, select Goals.
Open the population picker at the top left. Choose My team, Everyone, or one of your Saved segments.
To narrow further, select Add filter and pick an attribute, such as a department. Select Manage segments to create or edit segments (see How do I create a segment in Workleap?).
Every number and every row on the page is recalculated for the population you picked.
Read the Goal usage figures
The Goal usage panel gives four figures for the selected population.
Members with goals: how many people own at least one goal, and what share of the population that is (for example 41, 26% of members).
Active goals: how many published goals the population owns.
Goals up to date: how many active goals have been updated recently, and what share of goals that is. A goal counts as up to date when it has been updated at least once every third of its timeframe; on a 90-day goal, that means an update in the last 30 days.
Goal status: the split of active goals between On track, At risk, Off track, and no status, as set on each goal's latest progress update.
Find who has no goal or needs an update
The members list under the figures shows one row per person in the population, with their Active goals, the date of their last update, and their Outdated goals.
To find people without any goal, set Has goals to No. The count of members updates above the list.
To find people whose goals have gone quiet, set Needs an update to Yes. Each row then shows Last update under the active goals count, and Outdated goals tells you how many of their goals are late.
Use Search members to find one person, and sort the list by Member, Active goals, or Outdated goals.
Select Reset filters to return to the full population.
Tip: An outdated goal is one that hasn't been updated within a third of its timeframe. Its owner already has an action item to update it and gets a reminder email on Fridays; the list helps you see where to follow up.
Export the goal usage report
You can take the goal usage report out of Workleap as a page or as data.
Select Export at the top right of the page.
Choose PDF for the page as you see it, or CSV for the underlying rows.
Limitations and workarounds
Executives only. A Direct Manager who needs the same view for their team uses Team > Goals and sorts by Updated.
Goals are counted by owner. A person who only contributes to goals, without owning any, shows no active goal.
Draft goals don't count. Only published goals appear in the figures and the list.
