How to remotely install the Workleap app in Microsoft Teams

Install and pin the Workleap notifications app in Microsoft Teams from the Teams admin center, with no manual setup for your users.

A Microsoft Teams administrator can remotely install and pin the Workleap notifications app for your users from the Microsoft Teams admin center. The app then becomes available to them automatically, without any manual installation or pinning.

Tip: You can also view the Workleap notifications app listing on the Microsoft Marketplace.

Note: Before you start, a Workleap Administrator must connect Microsoft Teams in Workleap. See Manage Workleap notifications.

Access Microsoft Teams admin center

  1. Go to the Microsoft Teams admin center: https://admin.teams.microsoft.com.

  2. Select Teams apps from the side menu.

  3. Select Setup policies.

App setup policies configuration

You can either update the Global policy (applies to all users in your tenant) or create a custom policy and assign it to a specific group of users.

  1. To update your Global policy, select Global (Org-wide default) from the Manage policies list.

    1. To create a new policy, select Add to configure a custom policy for a specific group.

  2. Make sure the Upload custom apps and User pinning options are On.

  3. In the Installed apps section, select Add apps.

  4. Search for Workleap notifications and add it.

  5. In the Pinned apps section, select Add apps and add Workleap notifications to the App bar column.

  6. Reorder the app as you like (this determines the order in which apps appear in your users' Teams sidebar).

  7. Select Save to apply your policy changes.

The Workleap notifications app will automatically install for all users covered by the selected policy. Users will see the app in Microsoft Teams without needing to install or pin it themselves, and each user receives a welcome message from the app. It can take up to 24 hours for the policy to apply.
