How do I read and acknowledge the reviews shared with me as an employee?

See the manager, peer, and upward reviews shared with you, understand what's shown, and acknowledge them when your cycle requires it.

Use this article to read the reviews your manager shared with you in Workleap and, when your organization requires it, to confirm you have read them. You see only what the cycle was set to share; acknowledging is a one-time confirmation that freezes every review about you for that cycle.

Who can use it: every Employee whose manager has shared their results. Only you can acknowledge your own reviews; no manager or Executive can do it for you.

Find your shared reviews

Shared reviews appear on the same review page as your self-review.

  1. Open the link in the Manager Review Shared email, or log in to Workleap, go to Me, open the Progression tab, and select the review cycle.

  2. The review page now lists each review about you with its author and status, and each question with the answers you are allowed to see, labelled Self-review, Manager review, or Peer review.

What you see, and what you don't

A shared review shows exactly what the cycle settings allow, question by question.

  • You see an answer only if the question was set to be shared with the reviewee for that audience. A question your manager answered can be hidden from you by design, and a shared review can show a manager answer but no peer answers.

  • You see the names of your peer and upward reviewers only if the cycle set Author names to Shown to the reviewee. Otherwise their answers appear without names, and you never see who was nominated.

  • A question may read differently from the one you answered: your manager was asked What outcomes did this person deliver? where you were asked What impact did I achieve?. Their answer is shown under their wording, marked as reworded.

  • The AI summary your manager sees is never shared with you. Your own self-review is always visible to you.

  • Anything your manager edits after sharing is visible to you too.

Acknowledge your reviews

In a review cycle that requires formal acknowledgment, you confirm that you have read the reviews shared with you. The action item Acknowledge your review, marked high priority, stays on your list until you do.

  1. Read everything on the review page.

  2. Select the acknowledge action on the page and confirm. The date is recorded, and your manager is told in their daily digest.

Acknowledging covers all the reviews shared with you in that cycle at once, not one review at a time. If something changed since you opened the page (a review submitted, an answer edited, a reviewer removed), Workleap refuses the acknowledgment and asks you to look at the updated reviews first.

Important: Acknowledging can't be undone or repeated. It means "I have seen my reviews", not "I agree with them". If you disagree, raise it with your manager; the review stays as it is.

What changes after you acknowledge

Acknowledgment closes your participation in the review cycle.

  • No review about you can be edited or submitted anymore, including your own self-review and any peer review still open. Those count as not submitted and can't be given more time.

  • You and your reviewers drop out of reminders and nudges for this cycle.

  • Your manager can't unshare your results: in a cycle that requires acknowledgment, unsharing is disabled for everyone from the start.

  • Nobody can add or remove a peer or upward reviewer for you anymore.

Limitations and workarounds

  • Nothing shared yet. If your review page shows only your self-review, your manager hasn't shared. The Manager Review Shared email tells you when they do.

  • An answer is missing. The question wasn't set to be shared. Only an Executive or Collaborator can change that in the cycle settings.

  • You can acknowledge even if the cycle is locked, but not before your results are shared.
