Question Results

Updated over a week ago

You can view individual question results from a Pulse Survey or a Custom Survey in the Survey section of the platform.

The results of each question give insight into how employees responded. This helps you better understand engagement levels and identify areas for improvement.

View question results

To view question results from a specific survey:

  1. Go to the Surveys section in the left-hand menu.

  2. Scroll down the Pulse Survey report page that appears.

  3. Click the See all questions button in the Question results section of the page to view results by question.

Tip: You can also access the Question results list by clicking on an individual metric. Once you're redirected to the next page, click See related questions.

Hover over any question under the Results column to display the average score or response breakdown, depending on the type of question.

Filter question results

You can filter question results to focus on specific groups or timeframes.

To apply filters:

  1. Open the Questions tab within a survey's metric Results.

  2. Use the available filters at the top of the page:

    • Organization, Team or Segment.

    • Date range.

    • Metrics.

    • Sub-metric.

    • Questions.

    • Results (%).

    • Custom attributes (if configured through your HRIS).

Filtered views update the data to reflect only the selected group, helping you analyze trends.

Understand question results

The question results page displays:

  • The question text.

  • A trend line showing the evolution of the score or response over time.

  • A breakdown of answers (e.g., by rating or scale).

Note: All responses remain anonymous unless the survey configuration explicitly allows identification.

Understand sample size

Hover over the colored segments in the Results bar to see the percentage of responses for each answer. Results always total 100% (rounded).

A pop-up will display either:

  • Extensive: 30+ responses, or at least 51% of the team (if the team has fewer than 30 members).

  • Partial: Fewer than 30 responses and under 51% participation.

Use caution when interpreting partial answers, since they only reflect a portion of your team's feelings.

How the response threshold works

The Question report becomes available once at least 3 team members have submitted responses within the selected reporting window. This threshold applies at the report level, not per individual question.

The Question report defaults to a 3 to 6-month rolling window. Once the threshold is met within that window, response distributions are shown for every question answered during that period, even if only one person responded to a specific question. Anonymity is still preserved because distributions reflect aggregated response breakdowns, not individual answers.

When the question report data appears without metric scores

Metric and sub-metric scores use a shorter default window (e.g., last 30 days) and require the threshold to be met within that window. If recent participation has been low, scores may not appear, even if the Question report is still showing data from the longer rolling window. This difference is intentional: the two reports serve different purposes and are designed for different timeframes.

Export question results

To export question data:

  1. While on the Question results list.

  2. Click Export in the top-right corner.

  3. Click on Export in the Pop-up screen, and you'll obtain a CSV.

The export will include:

  • Question text.

  • Response data.

  • Filters applied at the time of export.

Exports help you share insights with stakeholders or use the data in external reporting tools.
