You can choose to deactivate specific questions from the Pulse Survey if they are not relevant to your organization’s context or current priorities. Deactivated questions will no longer be sent to Employees.
In addition to deactivating questions, Executives and Admins can also create custom questions to tailor Pulse Surveys to their organization’s needs.
Who can manage questions?
Only account Executives can manage the Pulse Survey question bank, which includes deactivating existing questions and creating new ones.
What happens when a question is deactivated?
The question is removed from future Pulse Surveys.
The question’s historical results remain visible in past reports.
Deactivated questions can be reactivated at any time.
Deactivating questions helps ensure the survey content remains relevant and aligned with your organizational needs.
Deactivation may affect metric and engagement scores over time. Reports that include the affected questions will display banners or paused states. Benchmark data will also be hidden when comparisons are no longer valid.
How to deactivate questions
Go to the Pulse Survey section in your Admin settings.
Click Manage questions.
Locate the question you want to deactivate by searching, filtering, or sorting.
Click the toggle next to the question.
Click and confirm the Deactivate question.
The question will now appear in Inactive status.
How to reactivate questions
Go to the Pulse Survey section in your Admin settings.
Click Manage questions.
Go to the Status column.
Locate the question you want to restore from the Inactive questions listed.
Click the Toggle button until the question is reactivated and appears as Active..
Reactivated questions will return to the Active rotation in future Pulse Surveys.
How to create a custom question
Go to the Pulse Survey section in your Admin settings.
Click Manage questions.
Click + Add custom question.
Write out your question and skip, review or edit the list of translations.
Click Save.
Custom questions will be included in upcoming Pulse Surveys based on your survey schedule.
