Completing a performance review in Workleap Performance is designed to be fast, fair, and backed by context. Whether you're a Direct Manager or an employee, Workleap AI uses your data sources to help you reflect on achievements and write thoughtful responses.

Access your reviews

From Workleap Performance

  1. Log in to Workleap Performance.

  2. Go to the Review cycles section from the left-hand menu.

  3. Select the active cycle assigned to you.

  4. Open the review form for your direct reports or peers to fill out the review.

From an invite notification

Select Start review in an email or Slack notification you received about the performance review to open the review in Workleap Performance.

Add and manage sources

Workleap AI pulls from various data sources to provide context and insights during the review process.

These may include:

  • Workleap sources: Past reviews, goals, 1-on-1s, and Good Vibes.

  • External sources (if connected): Slack, Confluence, SharePoint, JIRA.

  • Uploaded files.

Important: Workleap AI only pulls from knowledge sources that users already have access to. No confidential data is exposed.

Manage connected sources

Company wide knowledge sources (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, etc.) must be connected to Workleap AI by an Admin.

However, Direct Managers can enable or disable sources as desired from the sources panel at the top of the review form.

Note: Some external knowledge sources, such as JIRA, must be connected by each individual user.

Add files

You can upload up to 5 files (maximum of 32 MB total) to provide additional context for Workleap AI.

Accepted file types are:

  • TXT

  • CSV

  • Word

  • Excel

  • PowerPoint

  • Images (PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP)

  • PDF

Review highlights

Workleap AI generates a Highlights section using the data available from within the evaluation period that was set during cycle creation.

This section includes:

  • A summary of the reviewee's key accomplishments and progress.

  • Identified strengths and areas for growth.

  • Source links that let you view the original content.

Review the highlights and sources to prepare for the review.

Note: The Highlights section may be unable to populate if no sources are available or if all sources are disabled. If you see a banner indicating that Performance is lacking knowledge sources, consider activating or adding more.

Evolution since last review

In addition to the review highlights listed in the previous section, Direct Managers see a summary of their direct report's evolution since their last review cycle.

This Workleap AI-powered summary is based on the active sources connected to Performance (shown at the bottom of the summary).

Note: Peer reviews do not affect this summary.

Answer review questions

Answer each review question as desired. Review questions may be mandatory or optional. You must answer all mandatory questions to submit a performance review.

Using your connected source data, Workleap AI lets you:

  • Generate a first draft or get help on a specific question with the Help me reply option.

  • Use quick edits to change the tone of your response or spot check grammar.

  • Interact with the Workleap AI assistant to refine your answers as needed.

You are always in control. You can accept, edit, or delete any AI-generated content.

Submit your review

When all required sections are filled out, click Submit to complete your review.

Note: You can access and edit your review even after submission until the review cycle is locked.
